Eaton 9PXEBM180 — Extended Battery Module for 9PX UPS Systems

The Eaton 9PXEBM180 is a high‑quality external battery module (EBM) designed to expand the runtime of Eaton 9PX series uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). This module adds substantial backup capacity to compatible Eaton UPS units, enabling longer operation during mains power interruptions before shutdown or generator transfer. It is ideal for small to medium data centers, server rooms, and network closets where extended autonomy is required beyond the internal battery capacity of the UPS.

Extended Runtime with Scalable Battery Support

The 9PXEBM180 adds an additional 180 V battery string to compatible Eaton 9PX UPS units (specifically 5 kVA and 6 kVA models), providing extended runtime during outages. Each module contains 30 sealed lead‑acid batteries (12 V/5 Ah) in a robust battery enclosure. Multiple EBMs can be connected in parallel with a UPS to incrementally increase backup time, allowing organisations to tailor runtime to operational needs without oversizing the UPS itself.

Design & Form Factor

Built in a 3 U rack/tower convertible form factor, the Eaton 9PXEBM180 is engineered for flexible installation in standard 19‑inch racks or as a standalone tower unit. Its rack‑friendly dimensions make it easy to integrate into existing infrastructure alongside the base UPS, simplifying deployment and conserving valuable equipment space. Included in the package are the EBM power cable, detection cable, link plate, and a quick‑start guide to streamline setup and ensure proper communication with the UPS.
